A fit and healthy 32-year-old British woman said she suffered  “unbearable” pain after contracting COVID-19 on a ski trip in Switzerland, according to new reports.

Rosie Parkes, of White City London does high-intensity exercise classes every day, but still struggled with painful symptoms of the widespread infection, The Sun reported.

She picked up the bug in Verbier, Switzerland early this month — and 12 people who stayed in her chalet fell ill, she told The Telegraph.

One of them, a man who lives in Switzerland, tested positive for COVID-19, she told the outlet.

“I got home Saturday, March 7, went to work as normal on the Monday but woke up at 3am on Tuesday morning feeling achy and sore,” she said. “I had pain in my lower back and hips, but if felt like something inside was hurting – my kidneys. It was unbearable, no position I could sit, lie or stand in helped and it made sleeping really difficult.”

Parkes, who runs a luxury jewelry and fashion brand, said her temperature “went up and down over four days” — spiking as high as 104 degrees on Thursday — and she was “bed-bound the whole time.”

“I never got the chest pain but had a bit of a cough – just a normal ‘cold-type, phlegmy’ cough,” she told the outlet. “I went off my food a bit as I improved because I lost my sense of taste. I now feel like I’m recovering from a cold.”

She said her husband “had a few symptoms but has been fine,” and the couple is self-isolating.
